Michael Sanderling to Make Debuts with BBC Scottish and the Philharmonia
Michael Sanderling makes his debut with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra on 30 January (Glasgow City Halls) and in Aberdeen the following day. He will conduct Mahler’s hauntingly beautiful Kindertotenlieder, with contralto Claudia Huckle, and Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5.

Michael Sanderling becomes the new Chief Conductor of the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra

From 2021/22 Michael Sanderling will become the Chief Conductor of the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra.

Michael Sanderling on tour with the Konzerthausorchester Berlin
Michael Sanderling returns to the Konzerthausorchester Berlin for guest appearances at the Concertgebouw Bruges on the 16th, the Queen Elizabeth Hall in Antwerp on the 18th, as well as two performances in Berlin at the Konzerthaus on the 22nd and 23rd of November. Joining them on stage is violinist Noa Wildschut performing Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 4. The concerts will also present Bruckner’s Symphony No. 3 / Symphony No. 4.
George Enescu Festival
Michael Sanderling made his highly acclaimed debut at the George Enescu Festival leading the Romanian National Youth Orchestra with the Soloist Nobuyuki Tsujii on 10th September 2019.

SWR Symphony Orchestra Stuttgart
Michael Sanderling takes over SWR Symphony Orchestra’s concerts in Stuttgart, Freiburg, Cologne and Frankfurt, replacing Teodor Currentzis on a short notice. The concerts take place between 19. and 26. September and the programme includes Shostakovich’s 2nd Cello Concerto, Anton Webern’s Idyll “Im Sonnerwind” and the Adagio from Mahler’s 10th Symphony.
